Hot rolled coils, cleaned with acid, are coated with zinc through a continuous hot-dip galvanizing process either directly (GHR) or after cold rolling (GCR). This process is applied to both the top and bottom surfaces, providing effective corrosion protection on all sides.
Galvanized coating extends the material’s lifespan by preventing corrosion, especially in outdoor environments. For this reason, galvanized products are widely used in industries such as automotive, white goods, and exterior cladding.
Galvanized and galvannealed steels are passivated with chromating and/or oiling to ensure long-term protection of the zinc layer.
