Grapes, one of the fruits of August, cannot continue to ripen after harvest because they are different from many other types of fruit. Therefore, they must be harvested by cutting when they reach full edible form in terms of appearance and sensory characteristics.
Harvested grapes should be pre-cooled and stored for a short period of time. The storage temperature should be -1°C to 0°C, with a relative humidity of 90-95%. Since the grape stems and debris tend to lose water, high humidity must be maintained in the storage facility to prevent water loss. Under these conditions, grapes can be stored for 3-6 months.
At SCA Metal, we continue to support you with our Lockable Cold Room Panels to ensure your harvested products are stored under the most suitable conditions for you.
