Storage of Apples in Cold Storage

Storage of Apples in Cold Storage

Although they can be harvested from June to the end of December, the harvest date varies depending on the variety. Apples must be cooled quickly after harvest to keep them at low temperatures for a long time. However, considering the sensitivity of varieties that are sensitive to sudden temperature changes, they should be gradually brought to storage temperature. The optimum temperature for apples is between 2°C and 4°C. The appropriate relative humidity should be between 85-90%. Under these conditions, the average storage period is 3-6 months.

At SCA Metal, we continue to support you with our Lockable Cold Room Panels to ensure your harvested products are stored under the most suitable conditions for you.
